From a statistical standpoint, some irregularities are inevitable when parts are obtained from several sources. OEMs frequently issue recalls to fix or swap out the problematic component in order to address such problems. The most recent lawsuit concerns almost four lakh Suzuki motorbikes and scooters.

Scooters made between April 30, 2022, and December 03, 2022 have been found to have a defective high-tension cable, according to the recall notice. This problem has affected a total of 2,63,788 Access units, 72,025 Burgman 125 units, and 52,578 Avenis units. Suzuki has said that this recall is being done as a precaution. Individual customers have been contacted and advised to attend the closest Suzuki service center in order to get the problem resolved. The corporation will pay for all labor and new parts. The ignition coil is connected to the defective high-tension cable, per the recall. According to the recall statement, the high-tension cord’s failure stems from its design not adhering to the drawing standards (NG).

Problems including engine stall and starting failure were observed as a result of the defective high-tension cord and its consequent impact on the ignition coil. In addition, it was noted that exposure to water was caused by the split high-tension cord. The car’s speed sensors and throttle position sensor were vulnerable to damage as a result of the ignition output leak. In these situations, the car had problems including a malfunctioning speed display and trouble starting.

The vehicles included in this further recall were produced between May 5, 2023, and April 23, 2024. A portion of the automobiles worldwide are subject to this recall. This recall affects the V-Strom 800DE in India. At an initial cost of Rs 10.30 lakh, the ADV was introduced in India in March of this year. Roughly 67 V-Strom 800DE motorcycles are thought to have been affected. A particular set of rear tires that were fitted on the impacted vehicles have been the subject of problems that Suzuki has noticed. The tire tread displayed fractures and deformations as a result of manufacturing process problems. This may ultimately cause the tread of the tire to separate from the tire’s overall structure.

In certain situations, the flaw may affect the general dynamics of the car. As part of the recall process, a replacement rear tire will be provided for the V-Strom 800DE units that are impacted. Owners of Suzuki two-wheelers can use the Service Campaign page on the official Suzuki website to see if their vehicle is affected. All users have to do is input the VIN and adhere to the provided instructions. To learn more about the recall, one can also get in touch with their dealership.
