The latest spy shots of the Tata Harrier EV reveal its rear-mounted engine

July 11, 2024 By admin

The all-electric version of the Tata Harrier has been spotted testing and we now know that it will have its own power setup and some styling tweaks compared to the diesel-powered Harrier. Although the model is powered down, spy shots (under the body) reveal an electric motor setup at the rear.

The images suggest that the Harrier EV will also offer an all-wheel drive setup with two electric motors, one for each axle. There is no official information on the battery capacity or range of the Harrier EV, but it is expected to have a 60 kWh battery with a range of over 500 km. The alloy wheels look new, but they are hidden so the shape cannot be confirmed. Design changes to the ICE Harrier include a grille, front and rear bumpers and new alloys.

Tata has confirmed that it will have vehicle-to-vehicle (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities, hoping to level the playing field. As mentioned earlier, Harrier EV is expected to be launched before March 31, 2025. It will compete with the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 XUV.e8 e-SUV, which is expected to go on sale later this year.

Tata Harrier EV prices can start from Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the company’s flagship electric vehicle offering when it arrives. Tata Motors is working on the launch of the Curvv EV, which will go on sale this festive season. The Curvv EV will compete with the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVX and MG ZS EV. \N.
