After 17 glorious years of production, Nissan has confirmed that it will discontinue the R35 GT-R sports car in October this year. North America was one of the last markets where the GT-R was still sold. It will be discontinued in India and Europe in 2022. Nissan USA is launching the GT-R in two special edition models, the Skyline Edition and the Takumi Edition, which were revealed earlier this year.
The current generation GT-R, known as Godzilla, debuted in 2007 and replaced the R34 Skyline GT-R. Over the years, Nissan has given it two major facelifts and many special editions and performance upgrades in time to fight new competitors and changing market rules. These sports cars were very popular in audio circles, with some models producing over 1000 horsepower with some modifications and upgrades.

One such example is known in India. In stock form, the GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine that produces 570 horsepower and is mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Power was sent to all four wheels via an AWD system. Just like the last special edition model, the GT-R Skyline Edition will receive a Bayside Blue exterior paint job and a blue interior. Meanwhile, the T-spec Takumi Edition honors the craftsmen who assemble each GT-R engine. Purple exterior finish and Mori Green interior. The engine compartment is equipped with a gold VIN plate engraved in red, which pays tribute to the craftsmen who dedicated their work to its creation. Both models come with carbon-ceramic brakes, RAYS gold alloy wheels and front bumpers.

It seems unlikely that there will be a model that can directly replace the legendary GT-R. Nissan unveiled the Hyper Force electric concept as a preview of the next-generation all-electric GT-R in October 2023, but it’s not expected to launch until late 2020. The GT-R was sold in India from 2016 to 2022 . be remembered as an everyday sports car..
